Hello Igor,

I too have recently startled learning functional programming (started with Haskell, then moved to F#). I would say stick with with it until you get the 'Light bulb' moment the 'ah ha!' moment.

This happened to me, when I first met event driven programming. It happened again when I hit Object Orientated programming. It happened again when I hit con-current programming. And now its slowly hitting me again with functional programing.

It is true out of all of them this one is a big shift away from the others.

The key I think in my humble view is never to give up. Even when you keep coming up against a wall, try a different way.

Success is only a one more than a failure.

There must be something in the water.

I was listening to an old SE radio episode this morning, interviewing Simon Peyton Jones, talking about Haskell and Functional Programming. Definitely worth a listen: http://bit.ly/b7Ggus
